 The Annual Box Cart Races now in its 20th year was started by the Fresno Fire Department's Retired Firefighters Breakfast Club and the Fresno Fire Fighters Local 753. The races are held in June at Woodward Park. Participants must be 4 through 12 years with a qualifying cart, and a safety helmet is required. Trophies are awarded to carts with best design, best paint, most original, and best craftsmanship and are also awarded to the first, second, and third place times in each age category. A voluntary donation of $3 is accepted to benefit the Craycroft Home for Children.
